THE FESTIVAL'S 2012 EDITION WILL BE HELD FROM AUGUST 15th TO SEPTEMBER 2nd. THE MUSICAL PROGRAM WILL BE PUBLISHED SOON.

Welcome to the Festival's website

In the heart of the spectacular Luberon region of Provence, a festival that celebrates the music of the String Quartet.

For 35 years, the festival has been welcoming world famous String Quartets, as well as international award winning younger quartets. The festival is privileged to organize concerts in important heritage sites such as the cloister of Silvacane Abbey in La Roque d’Antheron and the pretty, little churches of  Luberon villages such as Roussillon, Cabrières d’Avignon and Goult. At Gordes, the concert is held in the stunning setting of its outdoor theatre. All in all, an enchanting combination of wonderful concerts and fine Provencal summer evenings.

The 36th festival in 2011 : a totally revised format

  • A two-week concert season, during the second half of August. A new concert every evening, involving a total of 45 pieces of music.
  • A String Quartet academy enabling newly formed quartets to study with one of the Festival’s main guest Quartets.
  • Several public master classes in the « Château de Lourmarin » and the « Château de Saumane de Vaucluse ». Students in the Academy will provide « proms » afternoon concerts in the villages of the region.
